Phasmophobia is Coming to Consoles This October, Price Increasing to $19.99
Jul-13-2024
Original plans to release Phasmophobia on modern-gen consoles and PlayStation VR2 in August were halted due to a series of delays. Kinetic Games developer had to tackle multiple issues before pinpointing a fresh release timeline. Over a year following the original announcement, the developer has now verified the official release date.
The much-anticipated Phasmophobia is set to be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PS VR2 in early access form this coming October. This coincides with a Halloween event, although a precise date remains undisclosed. Kinetic Games assures that the console versions will remain synchronized with the PC release and that all upcoming updates and added content will be released across all platforms at the same time. A cross-play feature between all platforms is also in the cards.
The developer has yet to provide any details about a potential Game Pass release at this moment, so gamers should wait to anticipate that. In another significant update, Kinetic Games also disclosed an impending rise in the price of Phasmophobia across all platforms to $19.99 later in the year. Currently retailing at $13.99, the developer sees the new price as a justified hike considering the increased content and gameplay since the initiation of early access.
